At Beyond the Spectrum, our Social Skills Groups are thoughtfully designed to help children and youth learn and practice the essential skills needed to build meaningful peer relationships. Rooted in evidence-based practices and guided by experienced clinicians, our groups offer a supportive and engaging environment where participants feel safe to explore, connect, and grow.

Who is it for?

  • Children, tweens, and teens with autism, ADHD, or other social communication challenges

  • Groupings based on developmental level and age

  • Individual intake assessments ensure appropriate placement

Program Structure

  • Small group sizes (3–6 participants)

  • Led by clinicians (e.g., Registered Behaviour Technicians, Therapists, BCBAs)

  • Sessions available after school and weekends

  • 6–12 week sessions with structured lesson plans and play-based learning

  • Ongoing feedback and progress updates for caregivers

Summer Camps

Inclusive, Supportive, and Fun-Filled Experiences for Neurodiverse Children

Beyond the Spectrum’s Summer Camps are designed to provide a structured, engaging, and inclusive environment where neurodiverse children can build friendships, develop key life skills, and enjoy summer to the fullest. Led by trained professionals in behavior therapy and child development, our camps blend learning with play in a safe, supportive setting.

Program Highlights

  • Thematic Weekly Camps: Creative themes each week to spark imagination and interest (e.g., Nature Explorers, Superhero Week, Sensory Adventures, and more!)

  • Social Skills Development: Group activities focus on communication, cooperation, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution.

  • Daily Routines: A predictable and visual schedule supports transitions and routines throughout the day.

  • Skill-Building through Play: Activities are designed to target functional communication, fine and gross motor skills, and adaptive behaviors.

  • Sensory-Friendly Activities: Designed with sensory needs in mind, including calming zones, sensory bins, and guided movement breaks.

  • Professional Staff: Camp is led by experienced therapists, educators, and support staff trained in ABA principles and inclusive practices.

  • Goals of the Program: Promote independence and confidence, support peer relationships and social play, provide opportunities for structured exploration and fun

Camp Details:
  • Ages: 4 to 12 years (age-specific groups)

  • Duration: Weekly sessions (July–August)

  • Hours: Half-day or full-day options

  • Location: BTS Centre and select community sites

  • Ratios: Small staff-to-camper ratio to ensure individualized support

Add-Ons & Support
  • 1:1 Support available upon request (limited spots)

  • Integration with ongoing therapy goals (if applicable)

  • Camp Readiness Assessments available prior to registration
